Virgin Islands Police Department Police Sergeant Promotional Examination

IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONTRACTUAL BARGAINING AGREEMENT, THE DIVISION OF PERSONNEL ANNOUNCES TESTING FOR THE RANK OF POLICE SERGEANT TERRITORY-WIDE WITHIN THE VIRGIN ISLANDS POLICE DEPARTMENT

This promotional examination sign up is only for current employees of the Virgin Islands Police Department.

Do not proceed to sign up for this exam if you are not an employee of the Virgin Islands Police Department.

SIGN-UP PERIOD OPENS at 8:00AM MONDAY, JULY 27, 2026

SIGN UP ENDS 11:59 PM ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26, 2026

Qualifications to sign up to take the Police Sergeant Exam:

Five (5) years of accumulated service in a rank lower than a Sergeant. (Periods of study leave, with or without pay, will count as accumulated service.)

In addition, an applicant must be successful on the written examination, oral interview, and record & Performance evaluation.
